Artist statement

My work uses visual and structural investigation to explore ideas of identity and place in relation to my own lived experience, my genealogy, and that of the work. Through representation, material, and abstraction the work explores meaning-making and aims to uncover new understandings of experience beyond what is clearly articulable.
